FRANCESCA ROGERS

Francesca is a Urology Nurse Practitioner (NP) practising in Western Australia. Francesca has extensive nursing experience in Urology, Gynaecology, General Surgery and Colorectal and has been a Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA) affiliated Prostate Cancer Specialist Nurse for over 10 years. Francesca has post graduate qualifications in prostate care nursing, sexual health, is a Clinical Continence Advisor and completed a Urology and Men’s Health Fellowship at the Australian Prostate Centre in Melbourne.
Francesca completed her Master of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner) and currently cares for general urology patients with a focus in men’s health. She provides management of erectile dysfunction, sexual health issues, continence issues and bladder dysfunction and facilitates the long term follow up of patients with urological cancers. Francesca also runs a national telehealth intimacy counseling service for men on hormone therapy. She is passionate about education and empowering patients.
Francesca is an adjunct lecturer at Edith Cowan University. She is a longstanding advisory board member for Exercise Medicine Research Institute and guest lecturer in the Curtin University Master of Physiotherapy Pelvic Health course. She commonly mentors nurses, nurse practitioners and medical practitioners in sexual health and was an expert panel member for the current national PSA testing guidelines. Francesca has published in international peer reviewed journals on penile rehabilitation.
Francesca is a longstanding committee member for the Asia-Pacific Prostate Cancer Conference. Francesca is also a past president for the Society of Urological Nurses in WA (SUNWA) and past state representative for the Australian and New Zealand Urological Nursing Society (ANZUNS). Francesca is a current member of ISSM, ACNP, SAS, SUNWA, ANZUNS and EAU.

VICTORIA
Evie Mertens is a Urology Nurse Practitioner (NP) practising in Victoria. Evie has specialised in Urology since 2012 at The Royal Melbourne Hospital, where she was employed as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. Evie has continued to pursue further education throughout her career, she completed post graduate study including a prostate cancer course and Intimacy and Couples with Prostate Cancer course through Dalhousie University, Canada. Evie holds a diploma in Urology and Continence through Latrobe University, and Master of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner) through Flinders University.
Evie facilitates group education on radical prostatectomy surgery at The Australian Prostate Centre, she assesses and manages men with sexual dysfunction both at APC and in private practice. Evie has recently commenced a role at a large regional hospital in Victoria, where she will further expand her scope of practice in Urology.
Evie is passionate about contributing to nursing education; she is a committee member of the Victorian Urology Nursing Society (VUNS), and a co-convener of the Asia Pacific Prostate Cancer Conference providing education to clinicians globally. Working in both public and private practice, Evie is passionate about supporting men and their partner/families with prostate cancer and works closely with Urologists, Psychologists, Exercise Physiologists and Physiotherapists with the goal of optimising patient outcomes
